Elks Hoop Shoot
Free throw contest, Sunday, Dec. 16, open to boys and girls ages 8-13. Contestants? age groups will be determined by age as of April 1, 2013. Winners advance to district finals.

BIATHLON

At Jefferson, Hidden Valley Nature Center will host a cross-country skiing and shooting race for youth and adults 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at the center, with events for all ages. A mandatory shooting and gun safety clinic will be conducted 9-11 a.m. Guns will be provided. A ski clinic will be available before the races and some ski equipment will be available by reservation. Racing Development Program
At Hermon, Penobscot Valley Ski Club Alpine Racing Development Program for skiers ages 8-14, to improve ski technique and develop racing skills, Saturdays 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at Hermon Mountain, January through February, racers will be encouraged to participate in 4-5 optional junior races on Sundays through the season. Skill Development Sundays
