Twitter Inc. and Nielson Co. are hooking up to create the Nielsen Twitter TV Rating, a new audience metric based on the microblogging service, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The new rating will be used to measure ?the reach of the TV conversation on Twitter,? Nielsen said in a statement. It will start in the fall 2013 TV season.
The measure will give Twitter?s TV partners a common benchmark to measure the engagement of their programming, Chloe Sladden, Twitter?s head of media, wrote on the company?s blog.
