The Triple Threat 11U Bearcats were at it again last weekend, winning the Snell Brothers Summer Sizzler, in Rehoboth Beach, Del. Teams from around the Mid-Atlantic competed with hopes of bringing home a championship.

Rainy weather that forced the start of action to Saturday didn?t seem to bother the Bearcats as they exploded on day one by beating the BCC Select All Stars (Washington D.C.), 16-0, and followed that up with a 6-3 win over the West Chester Wolverines. Saturday?s offensive explosion and stingy defense allowed the young Cats to come out of pool play as the No. 1 seed, with a first-round bye moving into Sunday?s championship round.

The Bearcats offensive explosion continued on Sunday, coupled with mound mastery from Trevor Laraia, who threw a five-inning perfect game, as the Bearcats steam-rolled the Souderton Warriors, 9-0, in a mercy-shortened semifinal game.

After trailing 2-0, the Bearcats bats again woke up with two monster home runs in the third as they cruised to an 8-5 victory in the finals against previously undefeated Pasadena Eagles (Baltimore, Md.).

It was the fourth straight championship game the Bearcats have played in, winning three over the last month.
