Palm Springs ? The Palm Springs Writers Guild hosts its monthly program/meeting on Saturday, Jan. 5 from 2 ? 4 p.m. at the Rancho Mirage Library. Noted Author and Publishing Consultant, Patricia Fry will educate and explain from an ?insider?s? perspective, ?The Psychology of the Book Proposal.? In the publishing world today a ?winning? book proposal is a must.

Fry will dissect the various sections of the book proposal and describe the psychology behind them so writers understand the value and purpose of each.

?Topics Covered Include:

? The three key things to add to a proposal that are more likely to hook an agent or publisher.

? Important things your book proposal teaches you about your book project and the publishing industry even before you start writing your book.

? How to build a rapport with your readers while still in the writing stages.

? How do you know you are writing the right book for the right audience?

Fry has been writing for publication for nearly 40 years. She is the author of 36 books, including Publish Your Book, Proven Strategies and Resources for the Enterprising Author and Talk Up Your Book, How to Sell Your Book Through Public Speaking, Interviews, Signings, Festivals, Conferences and More. About the Palm Springs Writers Guild

In 1977 a small group of area residents, all with an interest in writing, founded the Palm Springs Writers Guild to promote the art of writing among both aspiring and professional writers.
