A two-day micro festival is being held at two London locations featuring several Canadian and international music and fine artists.
Sweet Magic London brings a ?double-header? first to 755?Dundas St. E. (enter Rear B) featuring Jealousy Mountain Duo, of Germany playing their post-jazz music, and Toronto-based, two-piece Rotzig, and their experimental electronic music, with band members Thomas Del Balso and David Waldman also featuring their art work.
Saturday, at Aeolian Hall, the line-up includes: Turkey and Montreal-based eight-piece band, Esmerine; Lebanon and Montreal-based Jerusalem In My Heart playing their contemporary Arabic sound accompanied by 16?mm projections; New York City-based saxophonist and composer Matana Roberts.
A three-day festival will follow Sept. 20-22 featuring installations from local and regional contemporary artists and musicians, as well as others from France, New York City and New Zealand.
?It?s more like an art project/installation than a festival,? said organizer Peter Lebel.
?These September events are exploring the notions of collaboration, community, urban renewal, money, travel and the living past.?
